Rossotrudnichestvo in collaboration with The Embassy of Russia in India, Russian House in New Delhi, and Rus Education organized an extravagant Indo-Russian Education Summit 2024 which was held from April 11th to April 13th, 2024. This event was organized to catalyze educational diplomacy between the two nations, serving as a platform for educational collaboration and fostering cultural exchange between Russia and India.
The first day of the event was inaugurated at the Russian House in New Delhi and was graced by several eminent personalities including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India, HE Denis Alipov; Mr. Denis Gribov, Deputy Minister of Education, Russian Federation; Mrs. Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Health, Russian Federation; Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov, Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation “Rossotrudnichestvo”; Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director of Russian House in New Delhi; Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Technical Advisor at Rus Education; and Mr. Dinesh Singla, an Education Expert representing both India and Russia; among other distinguished guests.
This 3-days event brought together distinguished leaders, educators, and stakeholders from both nations to explore educational opportunities for mutual benefit in the medical sector. During these three days, the participants effectively engaged in in-depth discussions, and networking sessions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and fostering academic excellence.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by His Excellency Denis Alipov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of India. He emphasized the importance of the Indo-Russian education Summit 2024, the first of its kind, committed to nurturing educational collaboration and innovation, he emphasized the importance of mutual recognition of academic degrees. He also noted the significant growth potential in the number of Indian students pursuing higher education in Russia, attributing it to increased scholarship opportunities provided by the Russian Government, which have risen from 200 to 500 specifically. Additionally, the first day of the Indo-Russian Education Summit featured a welcome address by the Mr. Denis Gibrov, Deputy Minister of Education, Russian Federation, Mrs. Tatiana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Health, Russian Federation; Mr. Oleg Osipov, Director of Russian House in New Delhi; and Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation “Rossotrudnichestvo”.
The event further moved ahead with several panel discussions and round table conferences igniting meaningful dialogues on collaborative educational initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, cultural exchange, and socioeconomic development in both nations.
Day two of the Indo-Russian Education Summit 2024 soared with excitement and enthusiasm at Le Méridien, New Delhi, in which more than 1400 Indian students participated and actively engaged with 50+ prestigious Russian Universities in various domains. From the realms of Medicine and Engineering to the cutting-edge fields of IT & Aviation, students explored a diverse array of career pathways. Notably, more than 300 Indian students took the initiative to embark on their educational journey in Russia. The day concluded on a jubilant note where delegates savoured the rich flavours of India and its culture at the Gala Dinner, held at the Russian House in New Delhi.
The Summit extended into its third day with the landmark gathering of the Russian-Indian Association for Cooperation in the Field of Science and Education. Distinguished attendees such as Mr. Oleg Osipov, Mr. Pavel Anatolyevich Shevtsov, Dr. Dinesh Singla, and (Retd.) Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor underscored a shared dedication to international collaboration. During the meeting, significant momentum was achieved as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov took a remarkable step forward by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The day also featured delegates visiting prominent Indian Universities, including Sharda University and Hospital, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and Apollo Hospital, thereby enhancing the cross-cultural exchange facilitated by the summit.
In summary, the Indo-Russian Education Summit 2024 was a testament to the enduring partnership between Russia and India in education. Over three days, it fostered meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and exchange, shaping the future of education and bilateral relations.
