The foundation of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration was laid down in 2010 by the merger of two leading institutions for higher education the Academy of National Economy (ANE), which was established in 1977, and the Russian Academy of Public Administration (RAPA), established in 1991. Presently, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration has more than 47 branches across the country spanning from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Over the years, the university has come up among the top 10 universities according to Forbes and one of the top five most influential in the country. Currently, more than 249,000 students attend the diverse program at the university. Furthermore, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration offers a plethora of courses including more than 1,000 bachelor's degree programs and 500 master's degree courses.
